Luciano Margorani (b/g/noise), a guitarist who has been transmitting genre-less experimental music through his solo activities and collaborations with distinguished artists such as Henry Kaiser/Ferdinand Richard/Charles Hayward/Fausto Rossi, etc., and a popular Italian band: "L'Amore", whose sound straddles Canterbury music, "RecoMen" and modern psychedelic music. The three of them are Luciano Margorani (b/g/noise), a guitarist, Dario D'Alessandro (key/vo/g/glockenspiel), a multi-instrumentalist well known as the leader of the popular Italian band "HOMUNCULUS RES", and Chris Cutler, a well-known drummer in the world of "RECOMMEN" / "AVAN ROCK". The album "TRIANGOLAZIONI", a collaboration of these three musicians, was released in 2013 on the aMARXE label in Spain, which has been delivering a number of excellent works of Canterbury music and avant-rock. According to the information, this album started when Luciano asked Chris to record the drum parts in '12,Under Luciano's instructions such as "marches" and "songs with variations," Chris recorded six drum parts as if he were playing a pre-written piece. The plan was to have Luciano's friend Luca Pissavini improvise on bass, and finally Luciano's own guitar improvisation to complete the work, but the result was not satisfactory, and Chris' drum part remained on the side for a long time. In '24, Dario, who had worked with Luciano on various projects including guest appearances with HOMUNCULUS RES, was asked to join the project, and they worked together in their home studios, layering overdubs of vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass, etc. over Chris' drum parts, and after 13 years since the first recording, the album was completed. Dario's simple vocals and charming keyboard sound draw you into the modern Canterbury sound of HOMUNCULUS RES, while Luciano's sharp and freaky guitar and noise sounds, and ART. The guitar and noise sounds of Luciano, and the simple yet wryly twisted drums of Chris, who is in the vein of ART BEARS, fuse together to create a full album that is both close and different from each player's existing works, full of humorous playfulness and an experimental spirit in the direct lineage of R.I.O.!
