The album includes works from around 1800, with a focus on Beethoven's sonatas, which can be said to be the first horn sonatas in history. The collection is full of secret works by rare composers such as Potter, who also devoted himself to revising Beethoven's scores, and Kraft, who studied with Albrechtsberger, Beethoven's mentor. Louis-Pierre Bergeron is one of Canada's leading natural horn players. After studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he returned to Canada to perform with the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and the Arion Baroque Orchestra. In addition, he has performed with many of the world's most renowned ancient music orchestras, including the Europa Galante, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music, and the Musica Eterna.
