Kim Da-sol, Third Prize Winner at the Robert Schumann International Competition Featured in a Schumann Collection Born in Busan in 1989, Kim Da-sol began playing the piano at the age of 11. In 2005, she won first prize at the 3rd Nagoya International Music Competition. In 2008, she placed third at the Robert Schumann International Competition. She has received high acclaim in various competitions, including second prize at the 2012 Géza Anda International Piano Competition and the Jury Prize at the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. For Kim Da-sol, Schumann is one of the composers who is always close to her heart. Works such as *Carnaval* and *Scènes de la forêt*, as well as his final composition, *Theme and Variations (Variations on a Last Thought)*, dedicated to Clara and first published in 1939, are woven with numerous references to literature, Schumann’s life, and even his innermost thoughts. Kim Da-sol meticulously uncovers each of these elements, playing as if cherishing every single note. APARTE
