Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra

Description:

Splendid Vienna Waltz, Enchanting Operetta! This is the sound of Vienna! From the overture to "Die Fledermaus," the pinnacle of operetta, to "The Blue Danube," the Vienna Waltz, known as Austria's second national anthem, this concert features the masterpieces of Johann Strauss II, the "King of the Waltz," and many other fascinating Viennese masterpieces! Performed by the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, formed mainly by members of the Vienna Volksoper. The orchestra has been performing waltzes and polkas at Vienna's most traditional and prestigious balls for over 30 years, and was also in charge of music for the NHK television series "Gochisousan". <The Vienna State Opera Ball, known as "a ball within a ball," is held every winter in Vienna and is the last event of the ball season, and is attended by presidents and dignitaries from around the world. The orchestra was founded in 1982 as the orchestra of the "Opernbal" (Vienna State Opera Ball). The highlight of the social season, this ball is also famous for the debutante balls, where thousands of young men and women, known as "debutantes," make their debut in the social world. The orchestra also performs at the traditional grand ball held each year. The Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, composed mainly of members of the Vienna Volksoper, is dispatched by the city of Vienna to perform at balls all over the world, and has also given numerous performances with additional dancers and singers. They have performed not only in Japan but also in the U.S., Germany, Prague, London, Copenhagen, Oslo, Jakarta, Bangkok, Korea, etc. In 1991, they made a round-the-world performance tour of the U.S., Japan, and Southeast Asia. The orchestra has made outstanding recordings of Viennese operettas for Denon and Camerata, including an EMI disc with Serafin, and was the music director with Uwe Timmer for the 2013 NHK television series "Gochisous-san," for which they received critical acclaim for their "delicious sound. The orchestra was well received as an orchestra that "makes a delicious sound. Camerata Tokyo
