Narita is currently one of the world’s rarest literary masters in the field of music. (Tokihiko Umezu) Young violinist Tatsuki Narita has consistently placed among the top finalists at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition, the Long-Thibaud International Competition, and the Sendai International Competition. While a live recording from the 2012 Queen Elisabeth International Competition (QEC2012ENC) has been released, this album marks his full-fledged solo debut. The program features the dazzlingly virtuosic “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso,” Franck’s works, which pursue the utmost in beauty of tone, the challenging Fauré Violin Sonata No. 2, and, to conclude, Paganini’s virtuosic masterpieces—a program structured much like a one-night recital. It’s a magnificent debut album that has us eagerly anticipating his future success! “The first time I heard Narita play was when he was in middle school, at the All-Japan Student Music Competition, where he performed Saint-Saëns’ ‘Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.’ I was astonished and predicted to him, ‘You will undoubtedly become a world-class violinist,’ and ever since, every time I’ve heard him play Paganini’s concertos or Schumann’s sonatas, I’ve witnessed that prediction coming true. This fact was further proven by his second-place finish at the Elisabeth International Competition, considered one of the world’s most challenging. However, I cannot help but be amazed once again by the masterful performances he delivers on this CD and in his recent recitals. In 2006, he won first prize in the junior high school division of the 60th All-Japan Student Music Competition National Finals, as well as the Tsuzuki Music Award, the Usatsuka Award, and the Togi Award. In 2007, he won first prize and the Audience Award in the string division of the 5th Tokyo Music Competition. After graduating from the music department of Toho Girls’ High School (coeducational), he moved to Paris and enrolled at the Conservatoire of the 13th Arrondissement. She won second place at the Long-Thibaud International Competition and second place at the Elisabeth International Competition. She has studied under Masako Sawada, Eiko Ichikawa, Hamio Fujiwara, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Svetlin Roussev, and Florin Szigeti. She currently resides in Paris. King International
