The clavichord is a keyboard instrument invented around the 14th century. It is a small instrument played on a table or special stand, and although it is not very loud, it is said to have been a favorite of J.S. Bach, and even today it is loved for its delicate and expressive tone. This "French Suite" by world-renowned clavichordist Julian Perkins is performed on a modern restored instrument. Recorded in 2015, this CD features works by Froberger and Telemann, which the young Bach studied at the beginning of each CD, presenting the appeal of the clavichord to the listener while also taking into account the development of 18th century keyboard music.
