Previous releases in this series—Symphony No. 5 (recorded on the 21st; ACC102175BD/ACC202175DV) and Symphony No. 4 (recorded on the 20th; ACC10217BD/ACC20217DVD)—are already available, allowing you to enjoy footage of those electrifying concerts. This performance of Symphony No. 7 was recorded on the 25th and has already been released on CD; however, with its lyrical yet grand and rich sound, combined with the musical camerawork characteristic of ACCENTUS MUSIC, it is a powerful performance that you absolutely must see on video. Baremboim deeply reveres Bruckner—he recorded the complete symphonies with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (1972–1981) and the Berlin Philharmonic (1990–1996), and has continued to feature the composer frequently in his concert programs ever since. In this performance as well, Barenboim’s passionate musical interpretation and his overwhelming ability to inspire the orchestra are simply magnificent. The first half highlights the beauty of the lyrical melodies, while the second half builds to a climax with a sense of scale and dynamic range. Furthermore, the cover photograph for this series is the work of up-and-coming contemporary photographer Nadja Brunonville.
