Lemaitre studied composition and electroacoustics in earnest after working as a guitarist in a rock band. He has explored the possibilities of the acoustic guitar and has worked on a variety of compositions. The album includes a variety of guitar pieces such as "Un bouquet de souvenance," a traditional Franche-Comté song, "Selene," a Mediterranean myth composed as a tribute to Maurice Oana, and "Soft Watches," inspired by Dali's paintings.
