The fifth and final album from the reunited US alternative/lo-fi legends Pavement has finally been released as a deluxe reissue of "Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal," with additional bonus material! Released in 1999, Terror Twilight was a departure from the band's other four albums in terms of production process, and featured the band's first outside producer, Nigel Godrich, and a guest appearance by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood. The album is often described as the most precise and sophisticated in the band's discography, and while it has a lush production that breaks away from lo-fi, it retains the thrilling, ferocious look and unique mood of Pavement's other original albums, and the songwriting of Stephen Malkmus is a masterpiece. The album is still highly acclaimed 22 years later as a masterpiece in which Stephen Malkmus' songwriting has reached its maturity.This long-awaited reissue, the only one without a deluxe reissue, features the latest remastering of the original album and the addition of 28 tracks (27 on CD) of previously unreleased material, including the previously unreleased "Be The Hook," B-sides, home demos, live recordings, and even some treasured recordings made at Sonic Youth's Echo Canyon Studios. The CD also includes a booklet with many never-before-seen photos and commentary and testimonials by the band members and Nigel Godrich. The analog version is reissued in the song order proposed by Nigel Godrich at the time, which was not adopted in the end, while the CD is reissued in the current song order rearranged by the band.
