Melanie Safka, aka Melanie, is a folk singer and songwriter who has been active with BUDDAH RECORDS since the 1960s, weaving delicate melodies.Just as she was about to revive her own label and vigorously pursue reissues, she sadly passed away on January 23, 2024, and this is her historic live performance at the 1971 Montreux Jazz Festival! From Melanie's favorites like "The Nickel Song" and "What Have They Done To My Song, Ma,They perform lesser-known songs like "Chords Of Fame" and "Baby Rainbow," as well as a wonderful cover of James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind."
