The struggle between reduction and expansion, the excitement of the scherzo with coda! Live performance of the second draft of No. 3 by Schaller, who is devoted to Bruckner Schaller continues to record Bruckner symphonies in every possible manuscript. This time, Schaller will be performing the 1877 draft of Symphony No. 3 (=Draft 2). Although the version used is not specified, the 67th bar of the first movement has a Pauset and the 3rd movement Scherzo has a coda, which is in accordance with the Novak version. Schaller, who has devoted himself to Bruckner's performance, has grasped the key points of the score, and a heated live performance will unfold. There are three versions of No. 3: the first in 1873, the second in 1877, and the third in 1889. The first draft is rough and rugged music with a primitive charm. In each of the three manuscripts, the rhythms and material were reorganized and the number of bars was reduced in each revision, resulting in a compact cohesion of the music. The second manuscript, which is in between the three, retains the enthusiasm and vigor of the first manuscript while reorganizing the musical ideas and revising the overall structure, resulting in a score that is at odds between reduction and expansion.The major change is the addition of a coda at the end of the third movement scherzo. This is something not found in the first and third drafts. In the second manuscript, the coda was not printed in the 1878 published score, so it was not included in the 1950 "Eser Edition" based on the 1878 published score. The music is very lively and effective, and it stores up powerful energy leading to the final movement. PROFIL
