A surprising overflow of romance Le Concert des Nations led by Savard Recordings of Schumann and Bruckner symphonies! Jordi Savard is a man of many talents, from music history tales to Romantic symphonies, from viola da gamba to conducting, and even performing with refugee musicians. Now, for the first time, he brings Schumann and Bruckner to the world in a recording. As one might expect from a Savard performance, it sheds a whole new light on a repertoire that has been unjustly forgotten. The impetus for this program came from an invitation to perform Schubert and Schumann's unfinished symphonies (composed in 1822 and 1832, respectively) and Bruckner's Symphony in D minor at the Brucknerfest in 2024, The lead-up to the Romantic period was in perfect order, with Schubert's "The Great" and "The Unfinished" in 2022, as well as Mendelssohn's "Italia", "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Missa solemnis". The first YOCPA (Young Orchestra and Choir Professional Academy) was held in Catalonia from September 3 to 9, 2024, with a concert on September 10, followed on September 12 by the Linz Brucknerfest with a "Presentation The concert on September 10 was followed by a "Presentation Concert" at the Linz Brucknerfest on September 12. Then, from September 23 to 29, at the 2nd YOCPA Academy at the Namur Concert Hall, he recorded the Schumann and Bruckner symphonies. In addition to members of Le Conseil des Nations, members of the YOCPA also participated in the recording. All members of the orchestra sensed the spiritual side of Bruckner, which Savard read meticulously from the score, and the impulsive, tense rhythms, undulating melodies, and overflowing romance that are unique to Schumann, and they were all agile enough to express themselves in a great swell.
