Description:

Barnatan's second Beethoven cycle also includes "The Emperor"! Also of note is "Choral Fantasy" with Lydia Twitcher, Neil Davis, and other splendid soloists! Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan, who is gaining recognition in Europe and the U.S., is releasing a collection of piano concertos in time for the Beethoven Year 2020. The first collection (Piano Concertos Nos. 1, 3, 4 and Trio Concerto (KKC 6102 / PTC 5186817)) received rave reviews in various magazines as well as a special mention in Record Art. Born in Tel Aviv in 1979, Barnatan began playing the piano at the age of three and made his orchestral debut at the age of eleven. He has studied with Victor Delevianko, Maria Curcio, Christopher Elton, and Leon Fleischer. During his three-season tenure with the New York Philharmonic, Barnatan performed concertos and chamber music with the orchestra, and expanded his activities around the United States. Barnatan's charm lies in his colorful piano tone. The London Evening Standard called him "a true poet of the keyboard instrument, with refinement, precision, and assured delivery," and BBC Music magazine said, "A superb performance. The BBC Music Magazine called it "a superb performance, with a keen musical talent, overwhelming insight in interpretation, and graceful pianism, all in near-perfect balance. The New York Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Alan Gilbert, who has been a trusted conductor since the orchestra's subscription debut, and the orchestra is the prestigious Academy of St. Martin in the Fields in England. Gilbert's skillful conducting is brilliant as he accompanies the soloists and lets their personalities shine through. Also noteworthy are the splendid soloists, including soprano Lydia Twisscher, known for her work with the Bach Collegium Japan in "Choral Fantasy," and baritone Neil Davis. King International
