Description:

A gem recognized by Abbado and Jansons. Gustavo Gimeno is one of the world's most sought-after conductors. The fourth concert with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra features the richly emotional Mahler Symphony No. 4 and Piano Quartet! The fourth release on the PENTATONE label with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the world's hottest young conductor, Gustavo Gimeno, is Mahler! Jimeno was appointed principal percussionist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2001. He has since studied conducting as a way to further his studies as a musician, and his talent has blossomed as one of the best young musicians in the world. He made his Concertgebouw debut in January 2014 as Jansons' understudy, and became a conductor of international renown. His debut performance in Japan as a conductor was with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2013, followed by two more visits to Japan in 2015. Of those two visits, the most successful was with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in November of the same year, and his name has become well known in the Japanese music community. Mahler's Symphony No. 4 features a soprano solo in the fourth movement, "Heavenly Life - We Receive Heavenly Delight" from "The Children's Magic Horn. Hymeno's interpretation of this bright, joyful, and neat work is very clear and clear. Mia Persson's crystal-clear voice is also noteworthy. The coupling is Mahler's teenage work, the Piano Quartet in A minor, section (orchestral arrangement by Colin Matthews). Although this is one of Mahler's earliest studies, it has a strong impression of gloom and decadence, and is unmistakably Mahler's world. Please enjoy it together with the Shostakovich Album (PTC5186622), Bruckner Album (PTC5186613) and Ravel Album (PTC5186652) by Jimeno & Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. King International
