Andrea Noferini was born in Italy to a family of musicians (his father was a composer and conductor who served as president of the Martini Conservatory in Bologna, his mother is a pianist, and his brothers Roberto and Anna are also active violinists). He has been the principal cellist of the Orchestra dell'Opera di Roma since 1991. Rossini for Cello" is an excellent project, typical of Tactus, a treasure trove of Italian music, which brings together works for cello from the exciting music of Gioachino Rossini. In addition to original works for cello and piano and cello and double bass (more than half of which are world premiere recordings), the album includes works on Rossini themes for cello and piano written by Martineau and Castelnuovo-Tedesco, which depict Rossini's overflowing personality and genius with the rich expression of the cello. The work is a richly expressive portrayal of Rossini's personality and genius on the cello. The bonus tracks, Braga's "Serenade of Angels" and Monti's "Czardasz," are also superb. Tokyo M-Plus
