A project by the famous St. John's Church in Gdansk! The Forgotten Genius of Puclitz Vocal Music Collection Begins! Johann Daniel Pucklitz was born in 1705 in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland), a former German trading port on the Baltic Sea and the starting point of World War II, and was a church musician at St. Mary's Church. He was a close friend of Johann Gottlieb Goltberg (born in Danzig), who was famous for his Goltberg Variations, and is remembered as a genius who composed all the religious music of the church, even though he was not a Kapellmeister. The recording project was initiated by St. John's Church in Gdańsk, a famous church in Gdańsk that has organized and published Puckritz's works, and it was a great success locally. The conductor, Anjay Sadyko, was born in Warsaw in 1974 and studied under Andrea Markon at the Schola Cantorum Basel. MDG
