Aitor Villa-Lobos is one of the least prolific guitar composers of the early 20th century, having published only 24 works for guitar during his lifetime. It is noteworthy that despite his vast number of works and deep love for the guitar, he produced relatively few works for the guitar. However, the high musicality of Villa-Lobos' works and his deep connection to the guitar have attracted attention in concert and recording since the 1960s. This album covers the guitar works of Villa-Lobos, all of which are important to the guitarist's repertoire. Italian guitarist Giulia Ballare has won more than 30 awards in numerous international competitions, including first prize in the Segovia International Guitar Competition (2018), one of the most prestigious guitar competitions in the world. She is widely recognized as one of the most promising classical guitar soloists of her generation. She started playing guitar at the age of 9 and graduated with top honors from the Conservatory in Novara in 2012 under the guidance of Guido Fichtner.He has attended master classes with some of the leading names in classical guitar, including Oscar Ghiglia, David Russell, Pavel Steidl, Paolo Pegoraro, and Marcin Dilla.
