Debut album is being reissued in an expanded 3LP edition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release! The Wake was formed in Glasgow in 1981 after singer/guitarist Caesar left Altered Images. Their debut album, released on Factory Records in December 1982, has been reissued in an expanded 3LP edition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release! The four-piece band, consisting of Cesar (vocals, guitar), Caroline Allen (keyboards), Stephen Allen (drums), and Bobby Gillespie (bass), recorded this album with producer Chris Nagle. When released under the item number "FACT60," the album received high acclaim, including a five-star review in SOUNDS magazine. Bonus tracks on disc 2 include the second singles "Something Outside" and "Host," which feature a cool post-punk sound with dub elements, and a John Peel session from July 1983. This is the last recording Bobby Gillespie made before Jesus and the Merry Chain and Primal Scream.Disc 3 contains the entire show at the Air Pavilion on April 15, 1983 during the tour with New Order! Bonus content differs from the 3CD version that will be released at the same time!" RECOVERY" and "COUNTRY OF THE BLIND" that were never recorded in the studio!
