ECM's charismatic young trumpeter Matthias Eijk made his debut with the album "The Door" in 2008, and immediately after its release in his home country of Norway, it ranked high in the pop charts and became the best-selling jazz album in Europe that year, It became the best-selling jazz album in Europe that year. Ike, 32, was born in 1979, and his favorite trumpet players include Kenny Wheeler, Chet Baker, and Miles Davis. Ike's melancholy lyricism and melancholic sound are influenced by these musicians, but he also translates them into his own personal style, with his trumpet playing wonderfully clear solos and singing plenty of memorable melodies, as if they were his own themes.
