Following the critical acclaim of their appearance on NPR's Tiny Desk and their last album, "Starfruit," which was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Progressive R&B Album category, "Waves" is a return to their roots, but also a step forward into new challenges. This album is the most personal and emotionally profound work of Moonchild's career.All members are multi-instrumentalists who write, arrange, and produce their own music, and they have created an introspective album about "mental health," healing, and emotional growth. The music depicts the ups and downs, the joys, the pains, and all the natural rhythms of life in between, delivering the message to listeners that "true strength comes from embracing vulnerability. Building on the sound world established in previous albums such as "Be Free" (2012), "Please Rewind" (2015), "Voyager" (2017), "Little Ghost" (2019), and "Starfruit" (2022), "Waves" Moonchild's sound has evolved even further. The first two tracks from the album, "Not Sorry" with Jill Scott and Rhapsody and "Ride The Wave" featuring Astin Tur (released on October 10, World Mental Health Day), are a preview of what is to come.
