Yumi Aikawa has been under the tutelage of composer Akira Ifukube for a quarter of a century, and has conveyed the true value of his music through her concert series, CDs of his complete songs, and CD books. This time, Yumi Aikawa is releasing a CD book containing a CD of Akira Ifukube's song cycle and its commentary book, centering on a recording of Akira Ifukube's "Three Poems for Autumn in the Heian Period," for which a manuscript score was found in 2007. Aikawa reveals the hidden importance of this work by Ifukube with her own singing and writing, and conveys the essence of Akira Ifukube's songs in this work that is a must-have for Ifukube fans. <Yumi Aikawa (Vocals): Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and completed the master's and doctoral programs at the same university. D. in music at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Studied voice under Ryosuke Hatanaka and ancient songs and Japanese harp under Shigeru Iwanami. Winner of the 47th Japan Arts Festival Award, she performed in front of the Emperor's return in 1994 and in 1999 at the memorial ceremony for the 10th year of the Emperor's accession to the throne. He has performed, recorded, and appeared on TV in the U.S., China, and Europe.He is the author of "Kore wa Ika, Nippon no Uta" and "Enka" no Susume (Bunshun Shinsho), and "Aikawa Method" (Kawai Publishing Co., Ltd.), which proposes breathing and singing techniques to pronounce Japanese beautifully.
