Boris Bekhterev

Description:

Boris Bekhterev was strongly attracted to Scriabin's "mysterious and enchanting music" and has made it his life's work to perform his works. In 2015, the 100th anniversary of his death, his 18-year project of recording the complete works for solo piano was finally completed with this disc. Bekhterev's interpretations are based on authentic and deep reading of the score, and with great sympathy, he brilliantly distinguishes the subtle characters and scenes of each prelude, vividly expressing Scriabin's unique romanticism. <Boris Bekhterev, piano, was educated at the Gnesin Conservatory in Moscow, where he was awarded a medal of merit upon graduation. After winning the first prize at the Soviet Pianist Competition in 1970, he began his concert career as a soloist and partner of violinist Vladimir Spivakov. She has received rave reviews in the former Soviet Union, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, La Scala in Milan, Carnegie Hall in New York, and prominent concert halls in Japan and other countries. The repertoire ranges from Baroque works by Bach and Scarlatti through Classical, Romantic, and French Impressionism to Modern and Contemporary, but the majority of the works are by composers from his native Russia. From 1987 to 1996, he lived in Italy, where he collaborated with violinists Boris Belkin and Ute Ugi and flutist Maxence Larrieu. He also performed with violinist Felice Cusano and cellist Susan Moses as a member of "Trio Cesar Franck" in concerts in Italy and the United States. From 1994 to 2003, six albums of Russian and European music were released by Phoenix Classics in Italy. From 1994 to 2003, six albums of Russian and European music were released by Phoenix Classics in Italy. In Japan, Camerata has released albums of piano sonatas by Scriabin and Mettner and other important works. From 1996 to 2010, Bekhterev lived in Japan, where he taught at Kobe College and Mukogawa Women's University, and gave recitals and chamber music performances with renowned musicians from Japan and other countries. In 2011, she returned to Italy to continue her teaching and performing activities and to continue recording Scriabin's works. Camerata Tokyo
