A quarter of a century has passed since the sudden death of Chuck Schuldiner, the core member who led DEATH, the pioneers of death metal. To carry on DEATH’s legacy, the band was formed primarily by founding members Rick Rozz (formerly of MASSACRE) and Terry Butler (OBITUARY)—who are carrying on DEATH’s legacy—have brought together heavyweights from the extreme metal scene, including Matt Arvey (EXHUMED/GRUESOME) and Gus Rios (GRUESOME), to form LEFTTODIE. They have performed DEATH covers in live shows around the world and even staged a tour in Japan in the spring of 2025. This debut album features tracks selected from the demo recordings that DEATH released prior to their official debut—recordings that had garnered significant attention in the tape-trading scene at the time. Using modern production techniques and exceptional musical skill, they have revived the appeal of the riffs and songs—which had been obscured by layers of overdubs—that were previously difficult to fully appreciate. This special release, which meticulously captures the origins of DEATH and death metal, is sure to delight fans. (C)RS
