First SACD release of rare live recordings from Gostele Radio with the latest mastering! The 3-disc set includes Shostakovich in his final years and a collection of small pieces including the superb "Ruslan and Ludmila" and others. The latest SACD release is the K2HD mastering of Victor's digital masters! Mravinsky at his peak of maturity on SACD! The master tapes were made in 1989 from the treasured collection of Mr. Shugal, Mravinsky's resident engineer, which had been lying dormant in the tape warehouse of the Leningrad Broadcasting Station.From the '60s to the last recorded recordings of Shostakovich's No. 12 in 1984, sound sources that had never appeared before were suddenly released and made a huge impact on listeners. These recordings were only stored digitally, but on this occasion, the master recordings were up-converted and mastered by Kazushige Yamazaki of FLAIR Mastering Works using the latest Victor K2 technology, and finally released on SACD for the first time.
