Following the release of the first-place winner, Bruce Liu (PNIFCCD638/NIFCCD638), the latest release features Alexander Gajev from Italy/Slovenia, who tied for second place with Kyohei Tanada and also won the Best Sonata Award (Christian Zimmermann Award)! Gajev won the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition and the Audience Award in 2015, and has many devoted fans in Japan. He also won the World Piano Masters in Monte Carlo in 2018, and the Sydney International Piano Competition, which was held online a few months before the Chopin Competition.
