Description:

Italian composer Domenico Cimarosa (1749-1801). Born into a poor family, his father died in an accident when he was a child, but he made a great success as an opera composer using his natural musical talent. After returning to Naples, he was permanently exiled from Naples for treason for composing music praising the coming of a new era. He also had a very dramatic life. He composed more than 65 operas, but with the exception of "The Secret Marriage" and "The Woman's Handmaid's Tube," they are largely forgotten today. But all of these operas, with their vibrant music and clever plotlines, are still relevant today, and these overtures alone are not enough to make us feel that we are missing out. The overtures alone are not enough to make you think, "This is not enough. The orchestration, in particular, is superb. This will make you realize once again that the beauty of singing alone is not enough to make an opera. The performance is conducted by Gallois, who has been adding more and more maturity to his repertoire recently, and the well-known Hinfonia Finlandia Jubascura. The first (8.570508) and second (8.570279) collections are also well received. Naxos Japan
