The one and only live performance by Sadanori Nakamure (g/90) and Takeshi Shibuya (p/83), two of Japan's greatest jazz treasures! Since the 1960s, the two have met in the jazz scene and in numerous studio works. Their history of musical exploration and expression based on their feelings and curiosity about jazz and bossa nova is the history of jazz in Japan itself. More than half a century has passed since then, and in 2023, the duo, both of whom have earned great respect in their own ways, recorded for the first time. The persuasiveness of the blues (M1) by Jim Hall, played with a low note count! Shibuya plays beautiful piano on Ellington and Jobim numbers (M4, 5), while Nakamure gives a swingy performance of M3, which was featured in the Ginbori session, and M6, his 18th number. M2 is not to be missed.This is a number that Masayuki Takayanagi, a "key person" for both musicians, played on "Jazzy Profile of JOJO" with Shibuya, and that Tatsuro Watanabe, a legendary saxophonist with deep memories, was good at playing. The performance is full of emotion that brings back memories of those days.... The jacket and packaging are also very chic...!
