Description:

★The Beatles: Britain’s Big Summer Events of 1964 and 1965 ★Annual live performances showcasing new songs at a resort in northwest England! This title features recordings of the early Beatles performing live in their home country. Recorded in high-quality audio from the special live performances at "Blackpool Night Out," held twice in 1964 and 1965 in Blackpool—one of Britain’s premier resort destinations—as a special edition of the popular British TV show "Big Night Out." Although the events took place in the summer due to the resort setting, the first performance on August 1, 1965, came immediately after the release of the single "Help!" In addition to “I Feel Fine” and “Ticket to Ride,” the live take of “Act Naturally” sung by Ringo is extremely rare. Furthermore, “Yesterday”—performed five days before the album’s release—features Paul strumming an acoustic guitar and singing along to an orchestral backing track, a performance also seen in the video version of “Anthology.” It is also the first-ever performance of the legendary masterpiece “Yesterday.” After Paul finished singing, John handed him a bouquet of flowers, but when Paul accepted it, it turned out to be nothing but twigs. As Paul stood there dumbfounded, John teased him relentlessly, saying, “Thanks, Ringo. That was wonderful,” effectively blowing the afterglow of “Yesterday” out of the water. That exchange was, of course, recorded as well. Recorded about a year earlier on July 19, 1964, *BLACKPOOL NIGHTOUT* kicks off with a live performance of “A Hard Day’s Night” from the single released just then, followed by passionate renditions of “I’m Gonna Make a Vow,” “You Can’t Do That,” “If I Fall in Love,” and “Long Tall Sally.” With the exception of “You Can’t Do That” and “Long Tall Sally,” these were all new songs being performed live for the first time. It’s a thrilling live performance filled with a mix of tension and excitement. Additionally, rare live recordings from the same period have been included. During this period, as the Beatles rapidly rose to stardom and expanded their global activities with increasing overseas performances, playing in their home country was, of course, something special. It must have been an irreplaceable live stage for them as well. A passionate and precious live performance. ★Detailed Japanese liner notes! ★Licensed by JASRAC (Japan Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers) ★Cover art featuring licensed photos from Getty Images Japan
