A collection of works by Argentine composer and conductor Fabian Panisero. Panisero, who currently lives and works in Spain, has strong rhythms and dynamic colors derived from South American folk music, while his works show influences from Elliott Carter, Brian Ferneyhough, Luis de Pablo, and Peter Eötvösch. The title piece, "A5," attempts to depict in sound a story from the age of myth to the world of man. The Raven" is a collection of songs based on poems by Edgar Allan Poe, originally for baritone and piano. Other works include "Meister Eckhart: Mystical Songs," based on poems by the medieval German mystic Meister Eckhart; "Shifting Mirrors," with its complex sound patterns; and "Choral Reflections - Biltine," based on material from Bach's "Christmas Oratorio.
