The concert series "Breslau (Wroclaw) - a city in the heart of Europe" organized by the Bremen Weser-Renaissance has two goals in mind. One is to "enjoy the music" and the other is to "remember an old cultural environment that has been forgotten for decades. The Christmas story on this album, "The Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," is based on a selection of pieces from manuscript and printed scores found in the Berlin State Library, and is composed by the composer, who was the organist of the main church in Breslau, St. Bernhardin, and of St. Mary Magdalen.
