This overwhelming, cool-headed musical map seems to overlook the many genres he has traversed, but once you open the door and step inside, you will find the "songs of everyday life" that Sogabe has been advocating for some time. I would like to write songs as if I were writing a diary. I want to compose and sing songs as if I were writing a diary. Keiichi Sogabe has always said and practiced in this way, and it is certainly true that his attitude is present here as well. From small pieces that seem to be a single brushstroke to gorgeous pieces with strings and horn sections, the music has all kinds of textures, and they are all brought together by Keiichi Sogabe's boundless singing. The light and shadows woven by the accumulated private songs, however, are connected to our past and future, as well as to our small thoughts in some distant world. With this in mind, I once again entered the world of "Pineapple Rock". The 36 musicians who took part in the festival were all friends and colleagues. They, too, freely colored the gorgeous universe. Photographer Masashi Sanai selected this photograph of himself for the cover after listening to the album many times.
