The latest work from this quirky German veteran artist, who has turned from electronic producer to self-produced singer in a quarter of a century of his career. This latest album is a new departure in DIY pop music, blending the groove, euphoria, and emotional atmosphere of dance music into the world of pop songs. Rico Friebe is an artist based in Kiel, northern Germany. He has been active in the electronic music scene since the 90's under the name Rico Puester, mainly in techno and tech house, and his talent has been recognized by club world heavyweights such as Sven Vath and Claude Vonstroke. In the 2020s, he suddenly picked up the microphone and took a new step forward as a singer-songwriter. His latest album, "Dream," on the Utamono line, is an ambitious work in which he pursues the further possibilities of self-penned pop, performing all parts himself: drums, bass, guitar, piano, organ, and vocals. The first single, "Crippled," is a downtempo number with fantastic reverberations.The second single "Seven," the seventh track, is a euphoric pop number. The upbeat "Now," with its increased sense of speed, is also a killer! The acoustic opening instrumental "Cayman" and the semi-instrumental odd time "When? The total album is a magnificent story full of ups and downs linked to the image of the album jacket.
