Resonance (Punk)

Description:

Resonance, a british hope formed in SENDAI CITY, the birthplace of melodic punk since the mid 90's, is releasing a 7inch with 4 gems! The band was formed at "Tohoku University Light Music Club Asteroids", which has produced I Like Young Girl and Port. While digging through many genres and scenes such as post-hardcore and 90's emo, Oishi (Vo.) literally fell in love with bands under the influence of the UK melodic scene, represented by the prestigious label snuffy smile. For this album, Oishi (Vo.) did his best not to add any bold arrangements or colors, but to record the band's honest charm and atmosphere as it is at the moment, and to expand it as much as possible. Compared to the first EP, which was released in June 2023 and received a great response mainly on SNS, the songs on this album have a deeper originality. The band's lyrics are thoughtful and insightful, influenced by the likes of Leatherface and Jawbreaker, and the vocals are lush, coarse, and passionate, reminiscent of the International Jet Set. The band's music is not confined to a formal melodic punk framework, but is accented with sadness riffs that could be likened to Eversor or mash-rock style tapping, creating a contrast that makes for a rewarding listening experience. The swirl of piercing sound, exploding blueness, and sharpened melancholy hits deep in the heart. There is no doubt that this album is one of the must-hear discs for melodic fanatics in 2024, but the musicality of the young generation living in the present day, who have successfully updated the melodic music of "those days" with a new sense, is an epoch-making work that can be listened to by anyone, regardless of genre or generation. We hope this will be one of those releases that will be a beacon of resonance for the next generation and the next scene. It would be great if Frankie Stubbs heard this record and spit it out with a big smile on his face and said, "That's crap.
