This album, released at the perfect moment in Miura’s long career as a violinist, is filled with extraordinary passion. Miura is also actively involved in chamber music and has already performed several concerts featuring the complete set of violin sonatas. As a result, he not only has a deep understanding of each piece but also intuitively senses the similarities and differences between them and Beethoven’s symphonies. Compared to his orchestral works, Miura says he finds chamber music more approachable because it naturally reflects Beethoven’s private side. The pianist is Seizo Higashi, who has known Miura for 50 years and has performed with him on numerous occasions. He, too, has performed and recorded the complete set of Beethoven’s piano sonatas, making him an indispensable artist for this complete recording project.
