Hot Left Pole is a British male singer/songwriter. Now, his secret songs have landed in Japan for the first time! In today's world of diverse singer-songwriters, few artists can deliver such authentic folk music style songs. The whispy voice reminiscent of Elliott Smith, the naked, unadorned acoustic guitar tone of early Bob Dylan, the country touch of John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, the home-recorded, private style, the socially conscious, and the lyrics of "I'll Be Your Friend" are all the things that make this album a must-see. The private style and introspective lyrics born from the distance between society and himself ...... are truly a hidden treasure. Born in Castleford, a coal mining town in West Yorkshire, about 10 miles from Leeds, in 1992, he got a cheap electric guitar as a Christmas present when he was about 13 or 14 years old. He got an acoustic guitar when he was 16 and started playing and singing seriously from there.He attended university in Liverpool but left after two years. He then settled in Skipton, where he now lives, where he continues to write original songs while living quietly with his family; since 2018, he has been writing songs at a furious pace and releasing them as albums on the internet, often getting airplay on BBC radio. An album of his early work from that period, If I Fell A Bird Would Bear My Wiight, was released in 2020. Many other albums have been released online to date, but "one album a year is a slow pace for me," he said. I am amazed at the creative fervor that has not diminished in any way the energy to keep on creating. On the other hand, Hot Left Pole has never played live in the past. This is his latest work, which he completed at home as usual, while he continues to release his works at a high pace.
