The Odette/Odile is played by the beautiful Polina Semionova, born in 1984, a popular dancer who has visited Japan for "Sleeping Beauty" and "Swan Lake" productions. The beauty of her perfectly controlled movements from her toes to the top of her head in Odette's entrance scene was breathtaking. Her long arms and legs were in full display in "32 Turns of the Black Swan," in which she appeared in a new costume! Combined with the outstanding stability, it was a tremendous spectacle to behold. The tempo of the famous "Dance of the Four Swans" was a bit slow, but the four dancers' leg movements were flawless, showing the high level of the Zurich Ballet's dancers. The lighting, with its blue tints, was calm and elegant, leaving a lasting impression. The costumes were also beautiful, though without excessive decoration and with a very restrained use of color.Equipment and stage transitions are kept to a minimum, allowing the audience to focus deeply on the story. Even at curtain call, the lighting remains a soothing blue. From beginning to end, the production was perfectly staged and beautifully executed. Conductor Fedoseyev, who supported the wonderful stage performance, was also greeted with a great ovation. King International
