Description:

The statue of Henselt (1814-1889) in the central square of the Bavarian town of Schwabach is as majestic as ever in 2018. born in 1814, he studied under Hummel and became a very successful concert pianist. However, perhaps due to the outstanding pianists and composers of his generation, including Chopin, Schumann, Thalberg, and Liszt, Henselt suffered from a period of "stage fright" and had to take some time off. However, his playing technique was so solid that Liszt praised him as "the palm of the piérod," and Rachmaninov is said to have held him in high esteem. Although he did leave one piano concerto, his works are basically concentrated in small pieces for piano, such as "If I Were a Bird," all of which have a luscious atmosphere. It is a pity, however, that he stopped composing in his thirties for some reason. Naxos Japan
