Four piano works by Fumio Uno that express the universe of the mind by shaping time and space with the ear and eye Fumio Uno has been creating and presenting chamber music and piano works for 40 years since the 1980s. Although his style has changed with the times, his current music, while atonal, sometimes evokes a central tone or key, and while it may seem amorphous in phrase and form, it is also clearly coherent and repetitive. For example, in Sonata No. 3 "Akebono," various phrases and musical ideas that appear capriciously alternate with uniform descending forms that appear repeatedly to form a whole. His music is the result of his search for his own music in the present, while being aware of new musical trends since the late 20th century, such as the works of Stockhausen, Boulez, Cage, and Riley. In the beginning, he consciously incorporated minimal music, chance, and systematic ways of thinking, but since the 1990s, he has adopted a method of development based on free and improvised ideas. He is influenced by a wide variety of music.For piano music, in addition to the above, he cites composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Szymanowski, Schoenberg, Ives, Sorabji, and Takemitsu. Outside of piano music, he has been heavily influenced by progressive rock, free jazz, and Bruckner's symphonies. For her first recorded work, she has re-recorded a solo work premiered by pianist Kazue Nakamura, which she has performed and released together. Nakamura is a pianist who has long been active on the cutting edge of contemporary music, performing works by Boulez, Stockhausen, and Ferneyhough, as well as many new premieres. He has already released several CDs to high acclaim. This recording was made in four sessions over a period of five years, using the Memorial Hall at Kobe Gakuin University, Uno's workplace.
