Description:
Recitation of Murasaki Shikibu's diary and performance in the gagaku score of the time. In "The Tale of Genji," the names of many gagaku pieces appear, and scenes of performances and dances are described. However, because it is a novel, it is interpreted as fiction. On the other hand, the gagaku scenes described in "Murasaki Shikibu Nikki" are historical facts, and contain valuable elements that have caused a stir in the study of gagaku. This album was produced based on a project for the first time in Japan, in which the gagaku pieces described in the "Murasaki Shikibu Diary" are performed on gagaku scores of the time, along with recitations from the diary.
