Montreux Live Soundtrack on CD for the first time! Nobuo Hara and Sharps & Flats, a long-time leader of the Japanese big band world, performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982, one of the three major jazz festivals in the world. Despite the fact that the live performance was a great success, the recording had been lost for about 40 years without being made available to the public. After Hara's death, the sound source was discovered by chance in 2022, and now it is being released for the long-awaited release! Columbia has a number of Sharp's masterpieces including "Sharps and Flats in Newport" from 1967, and this time, too, the lineup is filled with Hara's desire for "jazz music born in Japan, not imitating or following the U.S. forever" and weaves together standards and Japanese melodies.
