This is the third album by the Watkins Family Hour, a special unit of siblings Sarah & Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek! Released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the live project that began as a radio show, the album is a sequel to the first album and features many special guests including Jackson Browne, Fiona Apple, Madison Cunningham, Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Willie Watson, and Lucius, and many other special guests, arranging and covering songs selected from their own unique perspectives, both old and new, and from a variety of genres. The Watkins Family Hour is a live session project started by Sara and Sean Watkins in 2002 at Largo, a club in LA, which was also broadcast as a radio program. In 2015, they released the album "Watkins Family Hour," and in 2020, they released "Brother Sister" without guests. Sarah & Sean originally formed the bluegrass band Nickel Creek with Chris Seeley in 1989.In 1993, Sarah and Chris were 8 and Sean was 12 when they made their album debut with "Little Cowpoke," which was a hit at festivals around the country. The band caught the attention of Alison Krauss, who released "Nickel Creek" in 2000 and "This Side" in 2002 on the Sugar Hill label. In 2007, they took a hiatus, with Sarah releasing a number of albums as a solo act and as I'm With Her with Eefa O'Donovan and others, and Sean as a solo act and as a member of the Fiction Family.
