Sonny Lathrop (rhythm guitar) of the LA band Starfires, known for the '60s garage classic "I Never Loved Her" (1965), later moved to Hawaii and formed the hard-psychedelic three-piece Sweet Mary in Honolulu in the late '60s. Their song "Remember Mary" reached No. 1 on the local charts. This disc, "I," is their debut album released in 1970, which includes the same hit song. The three released their second album, "Stuck in Paradise," the following year, and disbanded. The following year, the three released their second album, "Stuck in Paradise," and disbanded.
