ARCHAIC THORN, active in the German death metal underground scene since their formation in 2010, released their second album in 2025. With roots in old-school death metal represented by DEGIAL, NECROVORE, REPUGNANT, and others, the band combines uncompromising, uncompromising ferocity with sophisticated songwriting, and boasts the ability to stand shoulder to shoulder with the heavyweights of these genres. The album was mixed and mastered by Christoph Brandes (Iguana Studios), who has worked with NECROPHAGIST and FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING. The result is a modern and powerful album that does not lose the band's original rough and rugged character. This is an intense work that brings the spirit of old school death metal back to the present day, further refining the dark aesthetic and aggression that the band has built up.
