This album features Hasse's superb compositions on recorder and lute harpsichord, with Temming, one of the best virtuosos in the recorder world, and Schachtner, who is a masterful singer in works such as Jacobs' "John Passion," as the main players. The album features works by two German composers: Hasse, who studied with Porpora and A. Scarlatti in Naples and went on to achieve success in Italy, and J.S. Bach, who sublimated influences from Italian music into German-style music.
