Description:

Russian Ballet Series Vol. 8 "Shéhérazade" conducted by Perez and "Scythian Suite" conducted by Karabits* This is the 8th collection of "Diaghilev and the Music of the Russian Ballet". The 8th Collection of "Music of Diaghilev and the Russian Ballet" features two masterpieces of Russian music by Perez and Karabits, two conductors who have been remarkably active in recent years. The two conductors are also conductors who studied composition under Franco Donatoni and Peter Eötvös, He has also worked as an assistant to Bernhard Kontarsky, Michael Levinas, and Michael Gielen. After graduating from the University of Buenos Aires, he concentrated on composing, including an opera commissioned by the Teatro Colon Experimental Center in Buenos Aires, and then moved to Germany to pursue graduate studies in music in Karlsruhe. He made his conducting debut with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg in 2006 as assistant conductor to Christoph von Dohnányi.Perez has already appeared with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin, as well as the Opéra Bastille National de Paris, Opéra National de Lyon, Opéra Comique de Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and the Opera House Frankfurt. In 2011, he conducted the SWR Symphony Orchestra in a production of "Scheherazade," which is a perfect example of the ensemble's ability to assemble and create drama with great skill. The solo violinist, Yermolai Albikar, was born in Berlin in 1981 and has been a member of the SWR Symphony Orchestra since 2008. The rich flavor of his Russian heritage is also noteworthy.Prokofiev's "Scythian Suite" conducted by Karabits Following the ballet "Clown" Suite (93253) in the fifth book of this series, Prokofiev will again perform the "Scythian Suite". Prokofiev's first ballet, which preceded "The Clown," was also written for the Russian ballet company led by Diaghilev, and was based on pagan and primitive themes similar to Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring. Conductor Kirill Karabits, born in Kiev in 1976, has already had success with the SWR Symphony Orchestra with the "Clown" Suite and with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, of which he is the principal conductor, with Khachaturian and other works, so there are high expectations for his Russian works.
