Selim Mazari, born in 1992, is a remarkable young conductor who has attracted attention with his Beethoven Variations CD (MIR488), and his latest disc is a Mozart concerto. He studied at the Paris Conservatory under Engeler, and after Engeler's death in 2012, he further studied with Claire Désert. He also studied with Alexeyev at the Royal College of Music in London. His enthusiasm for classical music makes Mozart a perfect choice. The Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1952, is known for rediscovering and popularizing the Mannheim School repertoire.
