Guadeloupean singer/songwriter/harpist Sophye Soliveau released her long-awaited solo debut album, INITIATION, in March 2024. On this album, she nails the traditional instrument of the harp and weaves music with her wonderful, delicate yet soulful vocals. Weaving together diverse musical elements such as jazz, classical, neo-soul, and R&B, she creates a delicate and mysterious soundscape. This work, which seems to speak to the depths of each listener, can truly be called "music that touches the soul. My work speaks of a healing journey. The body is the origin of the process, my tool and compass that interacts with the massive body of the harp," says Sophie. This album is an important return to her own roots and a first step toward the freedom to create herself, she says.
