In this second recording, Faust's passages are all dazzlingly brilliant, and the sound is dazzling. Melnikov's fortepiano was also free, spontaneous, and eloquent. From the first movement of the famous F major sonata, the first piece on the program, we were drawn in by the lively exchange of words between the two musicians.
