Writing songs full of generosity, humility, and humanity, he is one of the warmest and most successful songwriters in American history. He is best known for "Fill Your Heart" with Biff Rose, which David Bowie covered, "Someday Man" by The Monkees, and for writing many songs for The Carpenters.The album features cover versions of Scott Walker's "We Could Be Flying," Glen Campbell's "Another Fine Mess," Elvis Presley's "Where Do I Go From Here," and Carpenters hits such as Diana Ross' "I Won't Last A Day The Carpenters' hits include Diana Ross' "I Won't Last A Day Without You," Freda Payne's "Rainy Days And Mondays," and Petula Clark's "Let Me Be The One" in cover versions, as well as the theme from his film work, Shields & Crofts' "One On One," and John Travolta's breakthrough film, "The Last Time I Saw You. The album also includes the theme from Travolta's film work, "One On One," Helen Reddy's "What Would They Say" from Travolta's coming-of-age film "The Boy In The Bubble," and even "The Rainbow Connection," sung by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie.
