Porcupine Tree, one of the UK's most popular rock bands with a sound that transcends genres, released their 11th studio album "Closure/Continuation" in June 2022, their first in 13 years. The new album was highly acclaimed in many media reviews and reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart, #1 in Germany, and the Top 10 in all of Europe. The post-release arena tour crossed four continents and drew over 150,000 people, many of whom had never seen the band before. Each show lasted nearly three hours, delving into the deep and rich old material that had lain untouched for the past decade, and the reaction of fans everywhere they went was nothing short of frenzied.The new release, Closure/Continuation Live, perfectly documents Porcupine Tree's triumphant return to the stage, capturing the band's November 7, 2022 performance at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome (capacity 17,000). The live video film makes the viewer feel as if they are right in the middle of the stage, experiencing a spiritually uplifting visual explosion behind them as they play an exquisite set. The set list is, in the words of Steven Wilson, "hitless," and each song is seen as an anthem from a different world. In addition to Stephen Wilson, Richard Barbieri, and Gavin Harrison, touring musicians Randy McStein (g) and Nate Navarro (b) performed many of the songs from the Porcupine Tree's 2022 reunion album (including singles "Hallidan" and "Of The New Day," etc.), and are featured performing classic songs of yesteryear such as "Trains," "Fear of a Blank Planet," and "Anesthetize."
